  • Is it safe to make my reservation online?
    • Yes it is. The Capitol Inn website uses 256 bit encryption (the same as our military). Your personal information remains safe and secure.
  • What are secure and non-secure items?
    • The weather being displayed is received via an unsecured connection. It in no way affects the security of your information or your connection to the Capitol Inn website. This is an incoming connection only.
    • You may select either yes or no, it has no impact on the reservation process, your information is encrypted the moment you select the submit button.
  • How do I know your website is secure?
    • Look for the padlock in the bottom right of your browsers window. You can click it to view the Security Certificate and all related information.
    • FireFox users can click the key to view the Security Certificate and all related information.
Facilities
Website
  • Why do the pop-up windows appear off screen?
    • Because Internet Explorer does not correctly interpret the instructions to display these windows in the center of your screen. Microsoft plans the release of an IE v7.0 browser that will among other things display these items correctly. Look for it this summer 2005.
    • Many of you are now using a pop-up blocker. If you are unable to view the Zoom In items either select to allow pop-ups from this website (we do not use pop-up advertising) or disable the blocker until you are finished viewing this site.
    • An alternative to waiting for IE 7.0 is to try FireFox (FF). FireFox is hands down the best browser to hit the Internet since 1995. FF is free. FF comes in versions for all windows platforms. FF comes in an OSX flavor. FF has many features that are not found in any other browser: Built in ad blocking, Built in security, Comprehensive cookie controls, Easy to use settings, 100's of great plug-ins to add unique functionality and one of my personal favorites, the browser supports skins so you can have a look that is all your own. All of this and more is available from the Firefox website right here.
